I knew Danny when I was a window clerk at the Milwaukee Main Post Office in 1983-84. I think he and John Rau were part-time techs for the old self-service stamp vending machines at Capitol Court, Southgate etc. so, when he wasn't window-clerking, he would only be in the window unit a couple times a day (in-between service trips). So, I didn't get to talk to him a whole lot but, when I did have a question or just wanted to talk, he would always listen intently and respond. Danny was someone who, once you got to know him, you knew you'd always remember - I liked him a lot. My sincere condolences to Beth, Amy, Julie and the rest of the Crooks clan.
